Naomi needed a treasure chest for her art gallery event, so I built one for her out of wood I had lying around. The sides are from planks that I planed to make them straight. The rest is 4" t&g pine that is usually used for walls, that my neighbour gave me years ago.

The front needs some sort of latch still. I just happened to have some hinges still in the workshop, so that was cool :)

It's actually very easy to build, so I'm sure Nate can do this in an afternoon. Using the pine t&g planks worked really well, I found, as it saves a lot of cutting. They were 8 foot lengths, so I made the box 2 feet long (minus the width of the saw blade). I actually used a plan from Canadian Home Workshop and multiplied the dimensions - they had a tiny little box, but I liked the shape of it. I can give you more details if you like.
And thanks for the compliments! :)
